India has rejected the statements made by China and Pakistan on Jammu and Kashmir. The Foreign Ministry said on Thursday (13 June) that Kashmir was, is and will always remain an integral part of India. In fact, on 7 June, during a bilateral meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing, Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif raised the issue of Kashmir.

In the joint statement issued after the meeting, China said that it opposes India’s unilateral action in Jammu and Kashmir. There has been a long-standing dispute between India and Pakistan over this issue. This issue should be resolved peacefully under the UN Charter and the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).

After this, on Thursday the Foreign Ministry said that no country has the right to comment or interfere in this matter.

‘Economic Corridor work is not acceptable in India’s part’
The Indian Foreign Ministry said that some work of Pakistan Economic Corridor i.e. CPEC is to be done in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (POK). India opposes any work being done in this area.

In fact, during the visit of Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif to China, Jinping had agreed in a meeting on high-quality development under CPEC and timely completion of ongoing projects.

What is CPEC
China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is an ambitious plan of Chinese President Xi Jinping. It was started in 2013. In this, an economic corridor is being built from Gwadar in Pakistan to Kashgar in China at a cost of 50 billion dollars (about 3 lakh crore rupees).

Through this, China will have access to the Arabian Sea. Under CPEC, China is working on road, port, railway and energy projects.

Our forces are ready to face any challenge – Defense Minister
After the swearing-in of Union Ministers in Modi 3.0, the process of their taking charge is continuing. On Thursday (13 June), Rajnath Singh took charge as Defense Minister for the second consecutive term. On this occasion, he said that the forces are being equipped with state-of-the-art weapons. We are ready to face every challenge.

This is why India objects to CPEC

  • The $50 billion CPEC will connect Gwadar Port in Pakistan’s Balochistan and Xinjiang in China.
  • The CPEC also passes through the Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, which India claims.
  • India believes that through CPEC, China is pursuing a policy of expansionism and is trying to encircle India.
