Counting of votes for the assembly elections in Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim is underway. In Sikkim, the ruling Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) has again got a majority in the trends. On the other hand, BJP seems to be forming the government again in Arunachal Pradesh. BJP has won 10 seats here unopposed. Voting for the Arunachal and Sikkim assembly was held in one phase on April 19. Congress has not opened its account in both the states.
After the 2019 general elections, SKM had an alliance with BJP, but this time before the elections, BJP broke the alliance by announcing to contest the elections alone in Sikkim.
There are 60 seats in Arunachal Pradesh Assembly and 32 seats in Sikkim. In 2019, BJP formed the government in Arunachal Pradesh by winning 42 seats. At the same time, SKM is in power in Sikkim with 17 out of 32 seats.
