
A fire broke out on the ground floor of a six-storey building in Kuwait on Wednesday morning.
A fire broke out in a building in Kuwait’s Mangaf city. 40 Indians are reported to have died in this fire. 5 of them were from Kerala. More than 50 people including 30 Indians have been injured in the accident. However, the death of 40 Indians has not been officially confirmed yet.
Foreign Minister S Jaishankar has informed that 30 Indians were injured in the accident. He said that the Indian Ambassador has reached the spot and met the injured. According to the report of news agency Reuters, this accident happened at around 6 am today as per Kuwait time.
The fire that started in the kitchen on the ground floor in the morning quickly spread throughout the building. Many people were trapped inside the building. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
According to the Kuwait Times report, more than 160 people were living in the building. Home Minister Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousuf said that many people were living illegally in the building. Therefore, there is no concrete information about the number of those killed.

The Indian ambassador reached the spot and met the injured.
Foreign Minister S Jaishankar said in his post, “I am shocked by the accident in Kuwait. Around 40 people have died there. We are waiting for the details to come out. My condolences to those who have lost their loved ones.” Indian Ambassador Adarsh Swaika also reached the spot and met the injured.


PM Modi called the fire incident tragic.
PM Narendra Modi has also expressed condolences over this incident. He said that the fire incident in Kuwait is tragic. My condolences are with all those who have lost their loved ones. I pray that the injured recover as soon as possible. The PM said that the Indian Embassy in Kuwait is closely monitoring the situation and is working with the authorities there to assist the affected.

Kuwait government ordered the arrest of the building owner
Kuwait’s Home Minister Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousuf Al-Sabah has ordered the arrest of the building owner. He said that unfortunately such incidents happen due to the greed of real estate owners. In the greed of high rent, building owners accommodate many people in the same room and ignore the security system of the building.
The owner of the building is Malayali businessman KG Abraham
. According to a report by Malayali media Onmanorama, the Indians living in the building were from Kerala and Tamil Nadu. The building belonged to NBTC Group, a construction sector company. The owner of the building is Malayali businessman KG Abraham.
KG Abraham is a businessman from Tiruvalla, Kerala. KG Abraham, also known as KGA, is the founder and chairman of the KGA Group. The company has been part of Kuwait Oil and Industries since 1977.
