8 killed, 24 injured, parking lots burned; Delhi, Mumbai, UP, and Haryana on high alert

A powerful car bomb exploded near the Red Fort in Delhi. Eight people were killed and 24 injured. The cause of the blast is unclear, but a high alert has been issued in Delhi, Mumbai, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh.

According to reports, an explosion occurred at 6:55 pm on Monday in an Eco car parked in the parking lot of Gate No. 1 of Fort Metro Station. The fire spread so rapidly that three other vehicles parked nearby were burned.

Following the incident, police cordoned off the area. A forensic team has arrived. CCTV footage from the surrounding area is being examined. The NIA and NSG have also been dispatched to the scene.

Deputy Chief Fire Officer said – the fire has been brought under

Deputy Chief Fire Officer AK Malik said, “We received information that a car had exploded near Chandni Chowk Metro station. We immediately sent seven units to the spot. The fire was brought under control by 7:29 pm. There is a possibility of casualties. All our teams are present at the spot.”

All districts of UP are on high alert, patrolling increased in Lucknow

Uttar Pradesh has been put on alert following the blast near Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort Metro station in Delhi. Speaking to ANI, Uttar Pradesh ADG (Law and Order) Amitabh Yash said the DGP has directed all senior state officials to increase security at sensitive religious sites, vulnerable districts, and border areas. All security agencies have been alerted. Police in all districts of Uttar Pradesh have been put on alert. Orders have been issued from Lucknow directing increased patrolling and checking in sensitive areas.
